Sailing in Palma Bay in Majorca can be an exhilarating experience. Join one of the sailing schools and enjoy sailing mono hulls or catamarans. There are even opportunities to learn to drive a powerboat such as a Princess or Sunseekers.

Majorca offers an easy way to learn to sail while enjoying your vacation sailing around Palma Bay and exploring the marinas at Cala Mayor and Puerto Portals.

There are several sailing schools on the island of Majorca but only one which is actually on the front beside the marina. They have some very fast looking catamarans which are also available for charter.

The powerboating sailing schools are situated a few miles from Palma and are still within easy reach for the excellent night life in Palma and the beaches on the south west coast of the island.

Traditional Sailing in the Bay at Palma Majorca

Jane and I found many boats of all different types in the Bay at Palma during our visit this Easter. Majorca really is an ideal place to see the boats - their annual Palma Boat show takes place at the end of April each year. There is also a fantastic sailing regatta which is worth watching during mid April.

What about sail training on this wonderful classic tall ship. The ship hails from Britain but the youngsters on board were learning to sail on this traveling sailing school. A real adventure especially in the sun of the bay of palma in the Balearic Isle of Majorca or Mallorca as the locals would call it.
